This year was the turn of ‘Monkston’ to hold the Summer Fete.
We were hoping for a sunny day. Well, it stayed dry, so that was a bonus. But the wind. On several occasions we nearly lost the Gazebo that had been lent to us However, we were very grateful that we were able to hold the event. Not only were there Grandparents organising the stall but we also had the Grandchildren helping as well!
As usual, there was a wide range of activities including: a Hog Roast, Beer Tent, Brass Band, Stalls, Crafts, Beat the Goalie, a Bouncy Castle, a Climbing Wall, Face Painting, a Live Band and DJ and our Tombola! Well, to be honest this year there were several, and the Grand Raffle.
During the afternoon, there was also a gymnastics display, a Parcour Display and some Zumba dancing!
We had wonderful donations for our Tombola, which looked splendid, and thank everyone who donated gifts. Thanks also to Kents Hill & Monkston for holding the event, which has enabled us to raise funds for the group to enable us to organise our Summer Outing for the Grandparents and Grandchildren.
